I was faced with a Canadian tax issue and, living in Michigan, was at a loss as to what, precisely, I actually needed help with and who could provide assistance. I contacted a number of firms and Schmidt & Gilmour were one of only two that bothered to respond. Of the two, Schmidt & Gilmour (Sam McDonald) responded the same day and scheduled a phone call for an initial discussion. THAT is how a customer-focused firm responds to an inquiry! My basic need was to determine if Schmidt & Gilmour could help with my issue and, if not, recommend someone that could. Sam did exactly that as well as recommending what pre-work I needed to complete before engaging his firm. Having a plan is the first step to resolving an issue and, thanks to Sam, I now have one. I actually look forward to engaging his firm in the future.
