  High volume, low quality law firm. If you’re happy with lawyers that ignore requests and/or significant delays - ie. 1wk email reply is the fasted, the norm is 2-4 wks. Then this is your place.

  I contacted them to review severnece and they very promptly got back to me. After taking my $$ level exact details, I am told that `Oh yeah we don't have any availability`. I am like sure you could have told me with that first not after asking me all my numbers and details. I wouldn't have cared to write a review but why ask $$ value to me just to tell me they wont have anyone to talk to me. They should know their calendars ahead of time. I hope I wont need any legal services in future and wont have to deal with this.

  I had an exceptional experience with Angus J. Wilson, employment lawyer at Samfiru Tumarkin LLP. From the very start, Angus took the time to clearly and thoughtfully explain my rights in a way that was easy to understand and genuinely meaningful. What stood out most was the firm's approach to help those in need of employment law—I did not get charged for the consultation, despite typically costs a $500 per hour. That alone says a lot about their integrity and how much they care about helping people, not just billing them. Angus depth of knowledge is unsurpassed, he was personable and came well-prepared to our meeting, anticipated my questions, and made a challenging and stressful situation feel much more manageable. There was no legal jargon or extra words, Angus clearly communicate so I understood the situation.   I had a very positive experience working with this team. Angus provided legal advice to me, and his depth of knowledge was clear from the first conversation. He was able to quickly understand the complexity of my situation and provide thoughtful, strategic guidance without me having to over-explain every detail. That level of clarity made a stressful process feel far more manageable. Mina was helpful and responsive with coordination which I appreciated. My one piece of feedback would be around the screening process. I understand why it exists, but it can be difficult to fully articulate everything upfront, especially when a situation is nuanced. There’s a risk that important context could be missed before actually connecting with a lawyer. It might be helpful to consider an option to pay for a preliminary or expedited review to ensure alignment earlier in the process. Overall, I’m grateful for the advice and support I received and would recommend them to anyone experiencing employment issues.

  After 15 years of service, I received a deferred layoff notice from my employer with the terms of severance. Due to my age and other factors, I wanted to know if the offer was fair so I contacted Samfiru Tumarkin to review my case. After collecting the relevant employment documentation, Mina scheduled a consultation with Angus for mid January but was able to squeeze me in sooner. Angus answered my questions in a friendly and professional manner and even answered questions my wife had about her workplace. Thanks to Mina and Angus, I know that the severance offer is very fair and I stand to gain nothing by contesting it. The consultation fee was a small price to pay for peace of mind and I can now focus my efforts on transitioning to an unexpected, but not unwelcome, early retirement. Thank you Mina and Angus!
