  The final bill was far beyond what we were told as an estimate. Much back and forth between the two lawyers regarding issues that were not required for the legal agreement nor asked for by either party. We only needed assistance with executing an agreement, there were no concerns or issues between us, but McDougall Gauley continued to send correspondence and suggest changes that were not needed or asked for. When we inquired about the bill and emails back and forth that neither of us asked for, we were erroneously informed they were legally required changes (they absolutely were not), and also told they do not provide quotes (direct lie given the phone calls I had before selecting this firm). It took months of waiting to get a reply and after following up months later to prompt a response, they acted like it was a courtesy to waive the interest that would have accrued over the months of waiting for a response from their firm. I do not recommend this firm. You will end up paying far more than you expect or than is required.

  Do not hire this law firm, these lawyers illegally collude with legal aid lawyers to generate an income off the client who hired the paid lawyer. They will plot together and use tactics to put the client in fear that they may have to pay thousands or they will potentially lose their custody case. If you are thinking about hiring one of these lawyers, contact me first. I recieved an accidental email from the legal aid lawyer a few years back during my case that was intended for my lawyer instead it went directly to me, and to briefly explain what it basically said is my lawyer " he's afraid that he will have to pay back pay, he's only got 8000 in his account, we can bill him for this n that till the end of the month" Legal aid: " ok so I'll type a letter threatening back pay and advise my client not to accept any offer" My lawyer" we should be able to milk him for at least double of what's in his account, his mom has money". Yes I got the the forwarded email with all the conversations. And until now I thought that it got deleted.

  "I recently hired McDougall Gauley and to be specific real estate lawyer Clayton to help me with my real estate sale. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed with their service. They were unprofessional and unresponsive. I had to call them multiple times to get updates, and they often didn't return my calls. They also asked me to pay extra fees even though I had already paid them in full. I would not recommend McDougall Gauley to anyone." Had a worst experience working with them.
