  Navigating a complex, high-conflict separation after a long-term marriage is an incredibly difficult journey. I cannot say enough about the professionalism, strategic thinking, and unwavering support I have received from The Riley Firm, and specifically from my lawyer, Rishab Lohan. From the beginning, Rishab has been more than just a lawyer; he has been a brilliant strategist and a clear communicator. He didn't just react to the other side's tactics; he developed a calm, forward-thinking plan that put me back in control of the process. He listens to my input and makes me feel like a partner in my own case. A unique and invaluable part of their service is the in-house therapy they offer, with options for both individual and group sessions. This has been absolutely essential. While Rishab masterfully handles the legal strategy, the therapy sessions have provided a safe space to process the overwhelming feelings and understand the 'whys' behind the conflict. This holistic approach—addressing both the legal and the emotional realities of separation—is what truly sets this firm apart. The entire team, including his law clerks Kortni and Suzanne, has been efficient and professional. In a process that is designed to be stressful and costly, they have been mindful of my finances and have provided a sense of stability in a chaotic time.   The team of great people at the ‘Riley Law firm’ has exceeded my expectations. Kind and compassionate. Even though I’m still in the process of my divorce, I already know I am in the right place.   My experience with the Riley Firm was quite unfortunate and did not resolve any of my issues, to the point where I no longer felt comfortable with them handling my separation as I did not feel that the firm had my best interests in mind at all. Initially I contacted the firm to draft a separation agreement for me and my former spouse. I was assigned counsel and they assured me they could get it done quickly and without issue and would offer me support during the whole ordeal. Things between my former spouse and I were amicable enough that we were communicating regularly, we had no shared property and no children together. Things unraveled quickly after the initial consultation. Communication was rare and very uninformative. I was not given any advice or counsel regarding my needs, ande-mails went unanswered. I was billed for pointless exchanges. For example, my counsel asked if I could provide a few documents but I was out of town on a trip and I told them this. They wished me well and that was that. They billed me for that exchange. I supplied my ex-wifes contact information on my intake form, but they forgot to enter it into the system and never contacted her to inform her that I had retained their services. Soon, they needed a top up on the retainer. Weeks passed without update except for the occasional bill. One draft was received that contained a number of errors. Both me and my ex wife would contact them for an update and we would get a reply promising documents by specific dates. None of these deadlines were ever met. Finally, I had enough and stated that I was fed up and demanded results. Suddenly, I got a reaction. I was informed that their had been staff changes and issues with law clerks and other things. That's all fine. But I was not informed about any of these things and left without a clue as to where my file was at or why they couldn't meet deadlines. I never even got a "sorry, I won't have the documents today". I also never received any advice in terms of what I might owe for payments or how to navigate what was a very difficult or emotional time. My counsel provided no advice except at the very end when I considered stepping away. So in the end I spent thousands of dollars over 3 months and received only a few drafts that were rife with errors including typos and incorrect statements and no apologies or explanations for what initially should have been a simple matter. As such, I did not feel comfortable proceeding with them. They made what has been (and still is) a very difficult time in my life even worse and there is nothing worse than going through a divorce and feeling like your lawyers don't care about your interests at all.

I knew he would have the good fortune of being represented by them. He profusely thanked me because his experience with their services was exceptional - providing him with high-caliber professional, comprehensive legal support. He can't speak highly enough of Paul Riley because, from the onset, Paul demonstrated a level of expertise and acumen in family law. I wanted to personally thank Paul and his practitioners for their approach to my friend's case since he was going through a difficult period in his life.
