  As an over 20 year employee of the federal government of Canada, I was injured in the line of duty. There were contraventions in the handling of my case, both in the duty to accommodate area, and in the fact that they the employer removed me from the union without informed consent. PSAC did not offer any resistance whatsoever. I have a diagnosed illness directly as a result of my injury on duty and have been awarded a 26.5% loss of function award by work safe BC. In December 2025 I was emailed and told that I would be terminated as of December 12, 2025. I am still waiting for my severance and for my file to be closed. Now the important thing is I relayed all of this to Raven law, and they deferred taking the case. They did not even ask if I was willing to pay for their representation. So who are they actually working for?

  Had a recent consult with Kim Patenaude, she is warm, kind and compassionate. She provided me with facts and answered all my questions in regards to my employment situation, and should the employment situation go further, she is the one that I will turn to. It was money well spent. As a follow up, I was terminated without cause, and Kim got me an additional $ in my severance package, and a benefits package payout, she gave me the option of fighting for more severance, or having her do it, and explained the cost factor, I decided to do it myself with her looking over and revising my counter offer, and then looking over their counter offer, which we agreed was better and that I should take it, but did leave that decision up to me, in the end, I took the final agreement. Thanks Kim, I would recommend her highly.
