  We had an excellent experience with Mann Lawyers, and in particular with Magdalena Casey, who represented us in a difficult LTB matter that took almost two years to resolve. Magdalena was exceptional throughout the entire process. She was always extremely well prepared, knew our case inside and out, and made sure that we were equally well prepared at every stage. She was thoughtful, strategic and very thorough in dealing with what became a complicated matter involving a number of different legal and factual arguments. We were also very impressed with her advocacy at the hearing. She was up against very experienced opposing counsel and, in our view, her preparation, command of the facts and understanding of the applicable law really stood out. The final decision was very thorough and we ultimately achieved the outcome we had hoped for. Most importantly, throughout a long and stressful process, we always felt that we were in very capable hands. We are extremely grateful to Magdalena for the work she did for us and would not hesitate to recommend her or Mann Lawyers.

  The clerical staff and Paralegals are wonderful, however, I hired Kate to update my cohabitation agreement. We first met on 25 Apr 2024 at which time I outlined what I was looking for in the new agreement. I sent many questions relating to the current agreement. She did answer some questions but eventually stated "better to meet in person." I am hard of hearing and told her written communication works best. Her first draft appeared to be a template which she attempted to fit my situation into. I explained, that the draft did not suite my needs. She produced many reiterations of the same template, all of which did not suite my needs, all the while charging more money, and taking weeks and months between each version. Her latest reiteration of Cohabitation agreement template was riddled with spelling errors, and contained clauses I had already informed did not apply to me. It appeared as if someone other than a lawyer prepared it, and she had not bothered to review it, yet the bill indicates that she billed as though she had prepared it. I finally found a template Cohabitation agreement that seemed to suite my needs, filled in the blanks of the template (similar to how people use a Wills template), sent it to her and asked her to review it to determine if there were any clauses that would cause issues. She indicated that she would only utilize her template, then sent a letter dated 14 Jan 2025, indicating that she would no longer represent me, AND sent a final additional bill. Lesson: If the documentation you require does not fit their company templates, it seems she does not know how to write an agreement to suite a clients specific needs.
