  I chose Thilini to help with the purchase of our first home because of her competitive pricing and great reviews. Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. We sent our purchase agreement well before the builder's signing deadline, but we didn't hear anything until I called at 5:00 p.m. on the day of the deadline we set. At that point, Thilini told us she hadn't had a chance to review it. We didn't receive her notes until 11:30 p.m. that night, leaving us with no real opportunity to review them or ask questions before the firm deadline. After that, we repeatedly tried to schedule the follow-up meeting that was originally part of the process. Despite multiple emails and phone calls to both Thilini and her assistant, we were never able to arrange one. Instead, we emailed our questions, but several weren't fully answered because the email didn't appear to have been read carefully. It took multiple follow-ups just to get the clarification we needed. During our final phone call, Thilini repeatedly referred to things "we already discussed," but those conversations never actually happened because we were never able to have the meeting we'd been trying to schedule. The biggest issue throughout our experience was communication. As first-time homebuyers, we were looking for guidance, but it was extremely difficult to get timely responses or straightforward answers. I understand that lawyers are busy, but communication and responsiveness are critical in a time-sensitive real estate transaction. I can't speak to the quality of Thilini's legal work because we never got far enough to experience it. However, based on our experience, the communication, responsiveness, and follow-through fell well below our expectations. Had I known that getting simple answers would be this difficult, I would have chosen a different lawyer.
